still born in the 1930's & '20's; would there be a burial?

I know currently stillborn infants have burials and services but how was this handled in the 1920's to 30's? As far as records of this pregnancy/birth, she would have been born at home as were the other children in that family. I have only received this information but not sure where to start if there is a place to find any such records; so far I'm coming up with nothing. Thanks for any information.

Things were no different then than they are now. The only thing is the extent and method of burial. They may not have had a separate burial plot for the child and just added the child on to some other family member's plot...or, if it was rural, some place around the family home. When you walk through the cemetery and see the little flat stones that say 'infant,' those are the ones you're looking at.

If there was a death cert you might have more definitive information on this. Worth looking for.

Hi. You won't be able to access the records I'm afraid. The only people how can are blood relatives. Initially the parents & then siblings if they can provide death records of their parents. Certificates were issued from 1927. Burial happened where ever. More often than not if the child was born in hospital either they were buried several to a plot or sadly disposed of. Thanks for your response. I am a blood relative, a niece. The parents are deceased as well as all siblings but two who are elderly, one with dementia in an assisted living facility and another in his nineties and unsure this ever occurred?? I quickly read the link and appreciate your sending it; will go back and study it better. Thanks again.

Birth and death certificates are seldom on line. They must be ordered from the governmental entity that holds them. The 1920s and 1930s are late enough that there is supposed to be these vital records but sometimes it didn't happen. I've seen many infant tombstones in old cemeteries from this time period and many decades before. Some were plain flat slabs while others were rather elaborate.

Thank you. All of these replies are helpful. Do you know, and probably is the case, I would have to pay up front for the search regardless of whether or not anything is found? Thanks!
