Wikipedia has quite a lot of White Sox history as well as articles about semi-pro ball clubs in Waco. Contact the clubs and ask if your ancestor played for them.

You might also try posting on the McLennan County, Texas board. Include your ancestor's name and whatever info you have about him. Perhaps someone with local knowledge can point you in the right direction.

Looking for Sports research sites

One of my relatives is said to have played on a semi pro baseball team in Waco Texas and later played for a brief time for the White Sox. So far I am having a hard time verifying this information. I would think the time period that he would be playing in would be 1890-1915.

Any assistance on this would be very appreciated.

Can any one out there give me any information on the South Brisbane Electorate Rugby Union Football Club of 1902.
I have just located a photo at the State Library and there is a relative (C. Silcock) in the team.

I can't help with the Football Club issue, but I do have Silcock's in my family tree, I live in Brisbane also and the Silcocks I have start with Leonard Silcock who marries Helen aka Ellen Cuthbert.

The only information I have is that the players were encouraged to play for teams in their local area(electorate).

Electorate Rugby was formed in 1901 and collapsed in 1907.

You should write or email the Queensland Rugby Union they will be able to help and may have some history relating to your relative.
