Aha! It appears that the familysearch.com website has at least one link to an outdated version of PAF Companion, insofar as said link points to Version 5.5B.

A more recent release--one that has solved the problem I reported above--is PAF Companion Version 5.7, which is available at the progenygenealogy.com website.

So if you are having previewing or printing problems on Windows 7 (x64) as I was having, make sure to try Version 5.7 to see if it works better.
