Five generations back, it seems my wife's family includes first cousins marrying. What makes it interesting it that they are one generation apart. In other words they are 1st cousins 1 time removed. Ignoring the obvious issues; this causes all current family to have the same ancestor in 2 generations, so when you do an ancestor report there are hundreds of duplicates. I use The Master Genealogist software. Is there a way to highlight the duplicates or suppress the details of the duplicates so the reports don't look so confusing. Any other suggestions?
I hope this is clear enough to describe the situation. I don't want to hide the fact the cousins married (I told my wife it explains a lot about her mothers family hahaha) I just want to eliminate duplication of the same person showing up in 2 different generations.
Thanks,
John
