Stumbled on this by accident. Referring to the migration utility suggests that really you wanted the FTM for Mac board not MacFamily Tree.
If I am correct there are, as I see it two possible solutions.
1.Find someone with FTM2012 who would be willing to convert your existing file to that format and export a gedcom with media links. This may or may not work when loaded into FTM for Mac, both because the way it has been implemented is a bit iffy and the different directory structure on the Mac.
2.Contact me via messages with a note of the size of your PC backup file including media, whether your email provider would let you email it and whether you would wish to let me have a try converting it on one of my machines.
In any event, do you have the latest migration utilty which converts 2008/2009 files as well? If not download a copy from the Knowledge Base on the FTM site.
As far as the children order is concerned, this is one of a lot of bugs in the program. The fix is to buy the next version when it comes out and hope it has been fixed.
