Converting FDB, MFT, NBD, NBX, PDB, PDX data? (mytree.exe?)

Converting FDB, MFT, NBD, NBX, PDB, PDX data? (mytree.exe?)

Hi,

I was working on my tree many years ago, and recently found the old data. All I can tell is that the program was installed to a folder MYTREE, and the executables are mytree.exe and mychart.exe (which no longer run on any computer I have).

The data is in 6 files, I think, with extensions FBD, MFT, NBD, NBX, PBD, PBX. If I open these files with a text editor, I see names interspersed among the garbled data, so I know the information is there.

Does anyone know of a way to access / view / convert this data? It is probably a few dozen people, so I could do it by hand if I could see the tree.

Thanks for your time,
-P

You could try the old versions of Legacy which are still available for download from

fdb is the current file extension for Legacy but I have nothing that matches the others that you mention

Thanks! I have a 64-bit Windows machine, so tried Legacy 4.0 -- but get an error ("Unrecognized database format").

I know the program I had was built in 1996 (based on the last modified date of the executable) and my tree data was last modified in 2002.

The PDB and PDX data files are the ones with the names.

On another forum online, I just found that these files are used Europress Family Tree -- not sure if that helps, if anyone still has that program.
