I am trying to figure out the best way to label a master source entry for each decade of the census and for the various counties. One problem I am running into is that when I create a source for say the 1850 US census and enter in the state and county. I then have to create another 1850 US census source for another family in Russell Co. AL, another in Twiggs Co., GA, another in Wilkinson Co., GA , another in Pulaski Co., GA and another for Lenoir Co., NC. This makes for a lot of census listings to search through each time I need to cite a source. I know that they need to be separate source entries, but I am unsure how to best label each of the sources so they are easy to locate.
Some ways I have considered are:
By year
1850 US Federal Census-Lenoir Co., North Carolina
1850 US Federal Census-Pulaski Co., Georgia
1850 US Federal Census-Russell Co., Alabama
1850 US Federal Census-Twiggs Co. Georgia
1850 US Federal Census-Wilkinson Co., Georgia
By State:
Alabama-1850 US Federal Census-Russell Co.
North Carolina-1850 US Federal Census-Lenoir Co.
Georgia-1850 US Federal Census-Pulaski Co.
Georgia-1850 US Federal Census-Twiggs Co.
Georgia-1850 US Federal Census-Wilkinson Co.
OR by County
Lenoir Co., North Carolina-1850 US Federal Census
Pulaski Co., Georgia-1850 US Federal Census
Russell Co., Alabama-1850 US Federal Census
Twiggs Co, Georgia-1850 US Federal Census
Wilkinson Co., Georgia-1850 US Federal Census
I have yet to find one I am happy with. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks,
Sandra
