I don't have a Mac, so can't talk from personal experience.

But many people do exactly what you've described, running Legacy from a Windows emulator (or whatever).

There have been many discussions on the Legacy User Group (LUG) mailing list - see http://legacyfamilytree.com/LegacyLists.asp to sign up to the LUG if you wish, and to access the archive (the link direct to it doesn't translate well at these boards) where you can search for posts of interest.
