Thanks for doing all the work for me and figuring this out! I'm so new to this, I hadn't though of the first solution you suggested. From reading this forum and the contact I made with a relative I found online, I really need to upload my gedcom file and see what happens. I actually have two files, one with the relatives of my cousin and the other on my mother's side of the family. What I want to avoid is that from this point forward, having to enter my new discoveries in Legacy, unless on my tree in Ancestry I can designate which names to download, just as I can designate which names go to the gedcom I upload. This is what I will learn about as I go. I haven't read enough of the postings in this subject yet to know for sure whether I can do that or not. It doesn't matter that much, really, because I'm going to get a tree up anyway. I figure with my family, this project will never get completed anyway.
