Looking for insight: advantages of GenSmarts
I,m curious as to what advantages GenSmarts has to offer. Does it go beyond the information that Ancestry gives in 2008 search. Thanks in advance for any insight.

Re: Looking for insight: advantages of GenSmarts
I have been using GenSmarts for only a few weeks, but I am very satisfied with its functions thus far. GenSmarts gathers your information and then prioritizes what it believes will provide you the best searches to pursue that will yeild the most information. It also identifies a lot of errors that FTM does not identify.
After making some of the recommended corrections, I saw that some of my FTM search results were more productive.
Again, I a new user, but have been very happy with the functionablity of this program. As a side note, I did have some trouble installing my copy of GenSmarts, basically because my operating system is MS-Vista. The customer service is via email, and they worked with me all the way through the proble, to include Saturday morning. Within less than 48 hours, a solution was identified and the problem was fixed. Very happy.

Re: Looking for insight: advantages of GenSmarts
Kyle, Thanks for the reply. I’m waiting for FTM to debug FTM 2008 before I purchase it and this might be a good time to try GenSmarts with my FTM v16 database. John

You say you had some problems installing Gensmart on Vista -- what was the problem and how did you fix it?

Re: Looking for insight: advantages of GenSmarts
The help folks, identified an imbedded file, which I had to click on, which Vista was ignoring. Once, that file was opened, GenSmarts ran just fine. The service folks were fantastic in getting my problem resolved.
