Hi, & thank you for the response!
I am probably about a day away from getting my code to interpret the .GED file and populate the tables. One issue I found is either FamilyTreeMaker changed their export format over the years or I just didn't always select the right 'GED' option. Some of my GED's go back to the late 1990's.

At the moment I have two things I want to do - both driven by differences detected between two different GEDCOM files.
1. Be able to list (i.e. a report) of all changes made to the data (between the old and new files), and show individuals that have been added.
2. Be able to modify the GEDCOM via Access code when certain conditions occur. For example, if I find my 'old' file had media records that are now 'missing', or individuals that are now missing, I want to be able to easily add them back. What happened is somewhere in one of the FTM upgrades, I found I accidentaly went back and started using an OLDER version of my file - importing, adding, etc. Since months passed before I discovered, I have lost the new people that had been added to the new file.

I will keep tinkering and hope to finish soon.

Thank you!

Hi, I don't know if this thread is still active. I downloaded the database program and tried to import a gedcom 5.5 file from Family Tree Maker 2014. I did not include any of the optional fields in the export, such as notes. The first 116,000+ of the 118,000+ records imported fine, but then it reported the same error as above: "An error has occurred. It may be that you tried to import a Gedcom file structure that is not support. The Gedcom Input Audit shows 116,441 IDs but it seems none of the tables were populated. The last line of the Audit shows an * and "(NEW).

Any suggestions?

I can't believe this thread is still going! I've tried every link you have provided, and nothing is still active. I would appreciate your most current work, or is there anything new out there? I have only a basic knowledge of Access, but I am pretty good at muddling my way through.
