Hi,
I thought I'd start a new thread so that those trying to upgrade to Yosemite might also see a new thread that it worked well for at least some of us. Perhaps this information will be diagnostic for others.
I waited to upgrade to Yosemite until I read that FTMM3 was compatible with Apple's new operating system. I then upgraded to Yosemite without incident and was able to use my FTMM3 program. Today, I noticed that there was an update to FTMM3 to fix bugs with Yosemite, so I prepared the copy of my FTMM3 file as directed in the update notice from FTMM and downloaded the update for FTMM3 (version 22.2.3.761). I have now used FTMM3 without incident and can sync my tree. With fingers crossed, all seems to be working fine.

The key to Colleen having no problems was timing. She waited until she was sure FTM3 would work before upgrading.
I have used Yosemite since Public Beta 1, my son earlier, and all the programs I use on a daily basis worked.
At the beginning I had four Mac Genealogy programs installed, I now have five. Two of them are no longer updated having been replaced by one or more later versions.
One which has a lifetime free upgrade policy failed to even load. I expected this because the same thing happened when Mavericks was released. I now have an updated version. One (the original FTMM) loaded but failed on functionality. As I still use it for one or two things I had to buy a new version, which I did last one once I found in the descripton on the Mac App Store that the version they were now selling had 64 bit support.
So far as the program I use for my main database is concerned, a bug has been identified around "find and replace" which have never used and some are reporting intermittent problems with typing/deleting/selecting in one pane.
My newest program I see has been updated to exploit Yosemite features.
