Greetings all. I've just bought Family Tree Maker 3 from the Mac App Store and can't get in-app purchases to work – the window just hangs with the message "Getting information on available purchase options from Ancestry". Has anyone else seen this problem?
There are other strangenesses as well. First, registration with Ancestry doesn't seem to stick. Second, in the Purchases window of the MAS the "Update" option keeps showing, even though the program is not listed as an available update in the Updates window. I tried updating, and it seemed to download again and re-install OK, but this didn't clear the "Update" notification.
To be honest I'm wondering if I have made a good choice. The program looks nice and imported my small GEDCOM file without problems. But in many years of using Macs this is the only software I've used where contacting the developer does not seem to be an option at all. Is it just me, or does Ancestry really provide no actual support page or email address for FTM? MacKiev have their name on it but don't mention it at all on their website. I find it all a bit strange.
