I have had similar problems. I have never had a Mac program with so many issues. Tech support has offered many solutions, none of which have worked. I have downloaded my ancestry.com tree so many times, I have lost count. The sync feature, when it works is great but before you know it, FTM will tell me my tree is not uploaded or linked and I have to start all over again. As I was downloading my most recent tree, it sucked up a huge portion of my hard disk space but eventually it must have cleared the cache and I got most of the space back. I also have issues with the fan running to the extreme. I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice with no luck. This program has crashed more than any program I have ever had since I moved to OS X years ago. What is more frustrating is that I was a beta tester for the new version and had many of the same issues. I was completely shocked when the program hit the market. It clearly wasn't ready to go. I really don't want to become an expert at troubleshooting especially since I am not getting paid to do it.
