Below is a letter I sent to the support people, but wanted to get your insights if possible, I only left out the last 2 sentences offering to send them my GEDCOM if they wnat to see for themselves. EDIT: using FTM2012 with latest patch as of 05/20/2012

Hi before I run on let me post a link to 2 screen prints of the "find duplicate people" window that pops up

these already have all the people that had a 1000 and actually were matches, but what is left is very troubling.
the first photo is how the people default, the second photo is what the help file tell's you to do, click on the top to put people alphabetically.

please notice that on column one the first 2 entries are in fact the same person that many of people have guessed on birth and death dates all else including name is identical.

If you look from the bottom up(counting from bottom up) you will see person 4, 5, 6 are brother or sister of the person on the right column , now these people have distinct birth dates, all are alive and have distinct first names > look to the right and that person is their brother or sister YET it thinks they are the same? when in fact it often shows the same person 2 time in the same left or right column against a different person

but the real crazy stuff is, it found several people that were identical in EVERY respect and it gave me a error saying they could NOT be related, is this a error in my tree ? or a logic error? or BOTH?.

and last when I'm in the main window of FTM2012 and I look at the window on the left that shows all the folks in my tree I see people that are in fact duplicated,(I click on them individually and write down birth dates parents death dates ALL identical) but yet they NEVER show up in the duplicate people window ? what gives ?
