In your ancestry tree, from the timeline, when you click on the citation you created manually and attached the media to, on the upper right hand side of the page that loads, it should show that there is a media item attached to the citation - as long as the file type is a type that syncs and the file size dos not exceed the size limit (I think 15mg). Does the media not show in this view?
