Thanks for this update. I just installed the new FTM 2012 - yesterday (Mar 17th). I assume the required update patch link that the program required picked up this new patch.
Syncing was very appealing to me since it brings along copies of all of the important documents that are linked.
For me, synching has created an immense folder for all of my media links (I did the download from Ancestry to FTM). I have opted to do the "one big tree" approach since, for me, it is a data base management choice I prefer. As a result, I have a few thousand in the tree (comprising both my and my husbands (his are extensive) lines). This results in a media file just shy of 3G in size. (Yup!...that was a G).
Right now, I notice that FTM is pretty slow in booting up and seems to go spinning off into memory hog mode...is this something that other people have experienced? I can't believe that the program was not designed with large trees and lots of media in mind. Has anyone else grappled with this issue?
Thanks,
Joann Taylor
