Yes, I know (I hear the stupid "click" every time it loads some new page and it has all these silly error pop-ups—both indications MSIE is running).
But if it were an MSIE problem, then ALL versions of FTM on Win7 would have the same issue. If I install a clean 2012, no web-clipping. If I then install 2011 or 2010 (according to those who've done it—I'm waiting for FTM support to actually answer my very simple question) then suddenly FTM2012 web clipping works. Or if FTM2012 is installed after 2011/2010 web clipping works.
Logic dictates either:
1) there is some share library that is installed by 2010/2011 that is NOT installed by 2012. This could be as simple as the one in 2012 is bad and 2010/2011 are overwriting it, but the 2012 installer may just look for it and not overwrite it or it simply is missing from 2012
2) FTM uses some cropped-down version of MSIE (and not the actual full version) and the one in 2012 is broken.
Since Support had me playing with settings in the actual full version of MSIE, I've ruled out #2. That leaves #1.
I can't see any other logical source of the error considering it is the installation of past versions of FTM that fix the issue. Even if it *is* and MSIE *related* problem, the source of the problem has to be FTM2012.
Unless you can show me the flaw in my logic, or some other path I'm missing...?
