I am using FTM 2009, Version 18.0.0.307 on Windows XP. None of the various ways to add new citations work. I can access the "link to existing citation" dialog box, however. When I try to open the "add new citation" dialog, nothing happens. I haven't changed anything I'm aware of. Didn't move my file or anything like that.

Any ideas?

When you are on the People, Person Screen and have a FACT elected in the Center of the page, does that FACT show up in the RH Panel?

Is this where you click Source, Add New? From there, is that were you select Link to existing citation and it works, but NOTHING happens when you select Add New? Is the Add New grayed out or is it active?

Yes, and "Add New" is active. But I also get the same result (nothing happens) from wherever I attempt to "Add New" citation(People Tab, Family, RH panel; Souces Tab, etc...).

I have a real problem understanding "nothing happens". I understand the words, but that does not make sense when you are talking about a computer program. SOMETHNG DOES HAPPEN. That something might mean that the program goes Not Responding. You have to do something when "nothing happens". What is that.

If the Link "Add New" is Active, SOMETHING HAPPENS. Again, it may mean that you click on Something. Turn your computer off, but something happens. Perhaps the program doesn't do what it is supposed to do, but in response to that you do some action.

Please provide some details for after you click on Add New and "nothing happens".

Removal and reinstallation fixed the issue. And, for the record, nothing happened. When I clicked on the "new citation" button, the only thing that happened was that I let out an exasperated sigh and went to get a cup of coffee. Must have been a corrupt registry entry or something.
