In a fit of insanity, I purchased FTM 2009. I'm hoping it really has improved over the test of 2008 way back. My computer should handle it with 2 gig of RAM, Pentium 4, 3.2 ghz speed.

Anyway, what steps should I take to prepare my current file before trying to import it to 2009? I am going to make a CD backup before I do anything for sure.

Second question: in FTM 2006, adding photos, etc. really bloated the file. My understanding is that this is handled differently in 2009. Will adding many photos, census record scans, and other documents bloat my file into sluggish-ville? I have about 25,000 individuals in the file, tons of notes, and sources.
