Here is what Benjamin of Ancestry.com had to say on the Family Tree Maker Blog:
"Family Tree Maker 2008 has a system requirement of Windows XP or Windows Vista.
I believe the earlier versions of Family Tree Maker 2008 (.416) may have functioned on other Operating Systems like NT or Windows Server 2003, however they were never supported. There have been some security updates since that initial release which may make Family Tree Maker inoperable when using non-supported operating systems."
