Though I have my database on the server, I don't normally use it to run FTM. Also, it was working immediately before applying the SP3 patch.
The server is always on and when on vacation a few weeks ago, I connected to the server to run FTM remotely (Remote Desktop) to show my family the tree. So the fact I can no longer run FTM SP3 on it means I will reinstall without doing the SP3 update and I should be OK for occasional "read-only" use.
