No, I had the most recent printer driver. The only thing wrong on my system was an older version of BIOS. I also updated the BIOS. The BIOS wasn't the problem. FTM crashed after the update. I suspect that FTM2008 is so unstable that it will not tolerate any computer faults. I don't know enough about printers to speculate on the problem within the printer. The printer will not print lines or some line art on pdf files either. It prints text and photos ok. Printers take too much study to repair. It's cheaper to buy a new one.
