To continue with the above example:
I had 27 facts linked to the first Source Citation (Ohio 1860 Census - Mercer County Center Township Page 317).
I had 19 facts linked to the second Source Citation (Ohio 1860 Census - Mercer County Cneter Township Page 317).
After I fixed the typo in the second Source Citation the same 27 facts were still linked to the first Source Citation and the same 19 facts were still linked to the second (now corrected) Source Citaion even though the two are now identical. No Facts have been repeated or changed. No Facts have been updated. The only change was the name of the Citation was corrected.
I hope this is clear.
