Classification: Query
I have read through many of these posts about issues with "Authentication to server error"

I have a desktop and laptop in which I have installed 2008 onto. Neither one of them will register.

Information

Desktop
-Windows XP Service Pack 2
-IE7
-No Proxy
-Recently updated with security updates and patches as of September
-Going through Cable Modem able to get to the internet just fine
-XP firewall turned off
-Date and time is correct, automatically adjusting for DST
-Family tree maker v.16 able to register normally
-previously had ftm 2008 beta version, but uninstalled before installing actual version of 2008.
-able to update patches through FTM 2008 and have most recent .440 version
-Has norton 2004 running, have tried to temporarily disable

Laptop

-Windows XP Service Pack 2
-IE7
-No Proxy
-Recently updated with security updates and patches as of September
-Going through Verizon broadband Wireless Internet Card, able to get to the internet just fine
-Has McAfee running, have tried temporarily disabling it

Here is what I have tried

-downloaded most recent version of FTM 2008
-checked clock and date settings
-shut off windows firewall
-temporarily disable antivirus protection
-re install FTM 2008 multiple times
-re boot multiple times (Usually fixes windows problems)
-contatcted FTM tech support twice and sent an email with system NFO files
-Should not have accelerator running since its cable modem and broadband card
-Banged head against wall numerous times

Anyone else have any other suggestions?

Thanks
