I have a distant cousin who submitted a tree which contains undocumented ancestry. In this case my immediate family members are not part of that tree, however it does contain my Great-Grandfather and second Great-Grandfather. It also shows third, fourth, and fifth Great-Grandfathers for which there is no documentation. These trees are displayed in my searches from FTM. I contacted this cousin and ask him to provide documentation or have the trees removed so that other researchers would not receive faulty data. He was more than willing to do that, however that seems to be near impossible with the Generations Network. This is the email that I received from him.
John--
If you could give me the location/link to the tree you are referencing, I will try my best to have it removed or modified. My trees on rootsweb & ancestry.com, to my knowledge, have been updated, and they are titled "---------". I know there is an outdated tree out there somewhere on ancestry.com "------" which I have been trying for years, unsuccessfully, to have them remove but they seem unable to do so.

It seems to me if you call their attention to incorrect information, which they were willing to grab and publish for their benefit, they should be willing to cooperate with the original owned to correct the problem. How is their unwillingness to correct these types mistakes helping researchers, (their customers)?
