Yes you have to purchase the Mac version of FTM which is called FTM3
In terms of converting files
If you really mean that you have FTM version 10 it creates an .FTW file which FTM3 (Mac) can open without any problems.
If on the other hand, if you actually have FTM 2010 (which is not the same as FTM 10) then you will have to use the somewhat arcane File Migration Utility and convert the FTM 2010 file to a format that FTM 3 can read.
http://help.ancestry.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5313/kw/Fil...You of course can use a GEDCOM from any version to FTM3, but that eliminates the media (if any)
Just as an aside, FTM 2014 and FTM3 use the same file format and you can readily go from one version to the other without any conversions, which of course opens up yet another option. If you have a friend who has FTM 2014 they can convert your FTM 2010 file (if that is what you really have) to FTM 2014 format which then can be opened in FTM 3.
Other than media if you go the GEDCOM route, all your information should come across just fine. If you really have FTM 10, then I suspect that you will need to resolve your places (once off in FTM 3 ) as FTM 3 has a description field which is not in FTM 10 (but is in FTM 2010)
