I guess the answer is "Yes, more or less.", more Yes for your context.

If you download a tree from ACOM to FTM, and set the option (as above), it downloads the media too. If you add media documents in FTM or ACOM, those tend to sync OK too. However, if you *delete* a media document in FTM or ACOM, the deletion isn't always reflected in the other.

This means that if you work mainly in ACOM as I do, the media folder tends to contain more documents than are in the tree. The only simple way to fix this that I've found is to delete the tree (and its media folder), and download it again from ACOM.

But if you haven't fiddled with the files in your media folder, then the census and other records will be in there, usually with names like "1851 England Census(3).jpg". You can rename them of course, but I've found that this isn't very useful, because you'll lose the names when you have to download from ACOM again.

The good news is that the census documents *are* on your PC if you're synching with ACOM.
