On December 18, 2014 Ancestry released a new free update-service patch #5 (build 345)-for Family Tree Maker 2014. Anyone who has Family Tree Maker 2014 and has not installed the update, should see a notice with the option to download and install it the next time they launch Family Tree Maker 2014.

This update includes the following:

- Fixed TreeSync problem where some media items were not uploaded in a large tree with a high media count.
- Fixed crash associated with opening a saved Family Group Sheet.
- Fixed a problem with the mini pedigree navigator where it didn't reflect the correct selection.
- Made multiple error message improvements.
- Added options for text wrap spacing around images in a Smart Story.
- Added options for resetting program settings after a crash.
