Nope. I do a similar method, by crafting what the citation will look like and inputting that on the 2nd tab.

The Powers That Be do not care that their templates are bad. Then again, looking at the mess of my "automatic citations" dating back to 2002-2005 (one of the reasons why I upgraded back them there was to have Ancestry "automatically import citations" for my sources) they have never cared about good practices.

I learned my lesson (and learn it every day as I continue to clean up my database from these bad citations). Besides, this way I have complete control over the data in the citations.
