I bypass the templates and just use a blank one. All I put in is the name of the source. Then in the 2nd tab, where it shows the out put of what the citation will look like, I type in exactly what it should look like according to EE. On the main tab I will put a shorthand description so it will have something to quickly see if you are looking at your sources. For my main sources I have a txt file with the [blanks] on where I input text.
I know I am not explaining this well, but it is 5 in the morning and I leave for work in a short bit, and do not have the time to fire up my program and try to find screen captures.
In general, just knowing that you can overwrite whatever exists in the box on the 2nd tab to conform to how you want the citation to look is key.
