I've found the Web Clipper an amazingly useful tool and would like to know if there is any way that I can use the same on data I have on my laptop.

This would be particularly useful for CD's that I have purchased which contain parish Baps, Mars and Burs

I don't think so as the tool is web clipping i.e. it collects facts, media and text from the "web".

When you are in web search in FTM, you are actually in a cut down version of IE and web clipping uses a number of Windows DLLs to operate inside this browser.

There are numerous tools that can capture information in Windows. The snipping tool is one that ships with Windows 7 and there are many, others. Try a Google search and try a few and use the one that you like.

The cheapest way to get information form the web is to use the copy and paste method that works in all programs. The next is the Print Screen function. Press the PRTSC key and the screen will be copied to the clipboard. Paste it into any image processing program, do any cropping and identify the source and save where ever.

Some programs like Irfanview (Free) have a very sophisticated capture program that allows you many option to capture all or parts of the screen
