I just installed FTM 2014 and ran it. A screen pops up with the options to "Register Now" or "Register Later". Regardless of the option I click on, the program crashes. This has happened every time that I try, and as long as it continues to happen I cannot use the software.

I spoke with customer support who suggested that I MANUALLY delete config files for FTM 2012. According to her, this "might" fix the problem, so she is emailing me instructions for the MANUAL fix to the problem.

So, before I MANUALLY delete cofig files, I decided it might be best to back up all of my trees from FTM 2012. Half way through my first backup, FTM 2012 froze up on me. This is the first time this has ever happened using FTM 2012, so I am assuming that FTM 2012 may have been effected by the install of the FTM 2014 software and that backups may not work properly any more.

My work-around... I am now backing up my files by copying them all over to an external hard drive. This is gonna take nearly an hour and a half. Add this to the 35 minutes that it took just to install FTM 2014 from CD, the 15 minutes that I spent on hold and talking to Customer Support, and the unknown amount of time it is gonna take to MANUALLY hunt down and delete those config files, and it looks like what is supposed to have been a simple product upgrade installation is gonna turn into an all day affair. And what's even worse is that even after I hunt down and delete those config files, this may not fix the problem.

This FTM 2014 is a HORRIBLE program from the start!!!! I'm definitely not happy and I will be telling all my friends to steer clear of it.
