I used this program back in 1997 and I loved the way it worked. I am glad that is back out there for everyone to use. I think that it is better in a way then Family Tree Maker. I like the Reports that it prints out, because they are printed the way I need when I go out to do research somewhere else.

Imported GEDCOM PDF objects can't be deleted

I imported some GEDCOM data that included PDF objects:
1 OBJE
2 FILE F:\Family\Geneology\Media\xxx.pdf
3 FORM pdf

But the media browser show the camera icon without letting me delete these objects. Any idea how to fix it?

Did Cumberland Family Tree include a sample project/GEDCOM file when originally installed?

Hi,

May be a bit late but you need to install the full version of CFT from https://sites.google.com/site/cftwin/home/cft-downloads and not the Viewer version.

I downloaded the program and my information is all their. However, the download is classified as Cumberland Family Tree Viewer. I can access all the information but I do not seem to be able to modify anything. How do I correct this???? THANKS

Since I've posted this, I have been able to locate a new copy and it works with windows 7. I downloaded CFT 3.20 professional for windows.

And before anyone ask it... Ira gave me 2 different serial : 1 for version 2 and 1 for 3,14.

And I still have my old PC so if any software can be uses to convert my file, I can use it on my PC too.

Exporting my family tree file... Help needed

This week I took the decision to continue my research in genealogy. Since a few years, I had less time and now, it's the right time to get back on that.

To my surprise, CFT is not avaible anymore :-(

I bought my license from Ira Lund, in 2007 and ira gave me the serial for version 2 and 3.14

My probe is, I'm on Mac OSX now. I want to use a software called Reunion that looks great.

I still have my file from CFT but it's a .CFT file. To use it, I want to export it as a GEDCOM file so I would be able to import it in Reunion 9.

Today, I have downloaded the 3,14 version of CFT that I found on the net. I opened my file. I tried to place the code Ira gave me in 2007, but it doesn't work. It says it's an invalid code.

Can you help me on that ? Please.

I don't know what to do now. Maybe I could send you my file and you could export it as a gedcom file and send it back to me ? Or do you know if there is a software I could use to export my CFT file ?

Does anyone know of a current site from which I can download an upgrade to my really old CFT v1.5?

My version will run in Virtual PC/XP Mode, but not in Windows 7.

My apologies since I don't really know the answer to your question. My question does related to Cumberland Family Tree. My program no longer works and the url takes me to a Japanese site. So I am stuck with some files with the "cft" extension that I cannot convert -- or at least have been unable to find a way to convert the files to a file type I can access. I did notice your mention of the site for the software -- does it work for you? Do you know if another site is available to access and download the program? Any information you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I just installed Windows 7 and am able to run Cumberland Family Tree V 3.12 by checking compability mode and running it the first time as Adminstrator. After that you can run it normally.

This program is NOT free. It is shareware, meaning that you may use it on a trial basis. You may use this program for 45 days before you are required to register. ALL features are enabled for the first 45 days of use. After the 45 day trial period, this program will no longer function. After you call or send in your order, you will receive a User Code which will enable all features permanently.

Sorry Ive only got V2 but when my laptop crashed I bought a new one with Windows Vista on it and CFT doesnt work with Vista. Now Im stuck!

I have downloaded the latest version quite a long time ago.
Unfortunately I did not install it.
After installing it, I have discovered that I do not have the foreign languages package.
But the CFT home page (http://www.cf-software.com/) is empty for more than two weeks (or even more..)

Any hint ?
