Susannah North Martin's stepdaughter Hannah Martin Worthen & Ezekiel Worthen were my great (x9) grandparents. I have had much luck finding info on the Worthen family from that point down to me, but I would be happy to compare notes and try to get some confirmation for what I have. Here is what I believe is my line:
-George Martin & Hannah (d. 1644)/Susannah North was stepmother (they married in 1646)
-Hannah Martin & Ezekiel Worthen
-Samuel Worthen & Deliverance Heath
-Samuel Worthen Jr. & Mehitable Heath
-Amos Worthen & Hannah Bartlett
-Ezekiel Worthen & Patience Webber
-Ezekiel Worthen Jr. & Mary Loomis
-Nathan Worthen & Henrietta (Nettie) Stewart
-Myrtle Worthen & Samuel Henry Baker
-Caryl Baker & Emile Floyd Matlack
-Floyd Stanley Matlack & Laura Beth Walden (my grandparents)
Another question I have is about the poem 'The Witch's Daughter' by John Greenleaf Whittier. Our family's understanding is that 'Mabel' & 'Ezekiel Harden' in the poem are really 'Hannah Martin' and 'Ezekiel Worthen'. I can see how many people might think that it's 'their' ancestor who is the one written about in the poem, but has anyone heard of any historical research done on this subject?
Also, there is a new novel out called 'The Heretic's Daughter" by Kathleen Kent based on her ancestor Martha Carrier, who was also tried and killed during the Salem Witch Trials.
