I descend from George & Susanna (North) Martin, also. TAG (The American Genealogist) July 1980, 56:3 has info about them which I don't know whether you or she has seen. A library near you might have them.
I would like anything about them. I appreciate your offer. Roberta

Hello Walter: So your mother came from Medway? You must be a descendant of Captain Nathaniel Martin and Marcy Goffe. I wrote the book that describes the whole family in detail from Susanna's son John (and Mary Weed) on down to the groups in Mattawamkeag, Medway and Millinockett. Could you tell me the name of your mother and of the first ancestor who came to the area? There is also another brief manuscript that was passed down through the family which I now have a copy of here at home. Looking forward to hearing from you. Kathleen

If you are a descendant of John Martin (son of George and Susanna North Martin) and you've written a book about that line, maybe you can help me. I'm a descendant from John's older brother Richard Martin. Two generations later, my ancestor David Martin (grandson of Richard) appeared in Buxton, Maine taking a grant of land made available to heirs of veterans of King Philip's War. But as far as I can see, Richard was not a veteran. But apparently John Martin was. Did any of John's descendants take veterans' land in Maine -- it was called Narragansett #1 (now Buxton)? Or possibly did they sell or transfer that right to their cousin -- my ancestor David? It's a puzzle, because I can't account for how my ancestor David ended up on this land. He either got it from his cousins (heirs of John) or else his grandfather Richard really was a veteran, but without leaving any record of it. Let me know if you have any insight on this.

Dear Walter, I realize it has been years since this message was posted but like your landlady, I too, am related to George Martin through his eldest daughter Hannah from his first marriage. If you still have access to these papers, I would love for you to share them with me. Thanks you,
