none of the witches at salem village (later, danvers in 1753) were burned, but rather they were hanged on gallow's hill. there was a woman that was accused, rachel (varney) langton cooke vinson, but was never hanged. i am anxious to know about her, other than the fact that her brother, thomas varney, was married to elizabeth proctor (a daughter to accused witch john proctor by his marriage to second wife elizabeth thorndike) in 1681. anyone that is descended from her, could you please email me your lineage at
irishmn37@aol.com. thanks, i would really appreciate it. an information would be helpful and, when i write my book on the genealogies of the sufferers, i will credit them in the book.
