Randy,
This thread, which I started just about three years ago, ended with you saying phrase searching wasn't then possible. Has anything changed in the intervening three years that might allow it now?
What I'm hoping might be possible is the ability to limit place searches to an exact text string, to prevent the search results from containing unwanted entries.
Example:
Bourbach-le-Haut is a community in the French département du Haut-Rhin. Right next to it is the community of Bourbach-le-Bas. It isn't currently possible to do a search and get ONLY entries for Bourbach-le-Haut -- Bourbach-le-Bas also appears in the results since the requested elements are all present: "Bourbach", "le" and "Haut" (this last being part of the name of the département). I know that I can't retain the hyphens in my search, since they result in an empty result set, but even if I could search "Bourbach le Haut" and get only results for that community it would be helpful.
This part of the world has many such pairs:
Traubach-le-Bas and Traubach-le-Haut
Spechbach-le-Bas and Spechbach-le-Haut
Burnhaupt-le-Bas and Burnhaupt-le-Haut
Steinbrunn-le-Bas and Steinbrunn-le-Haut
Aspach-le-Bas and Aspach-le-Haut
Magstatt-le-Bas and Magstatt-le-Haut
Hagenthal-le-Bas and Hagenthal-le-Haut
And then there are examples such as:
Ranspach, Ranspach-le-Bas and Ranspach-le-Haut
Here you can't restrict your results to JUST Ranspach or Ranspach-le-Haut, so having the ability to use a boolean NOT operator would be useful in conjunction with phrase searching.
Thanks.
