A ROOTS-L correspondant is trying to get a person to remove their buggy gedcom from WCP. This person doesn't know how to do it. I visted the FAQs and couldn't find that this subject has been addressed.

I sat down and whipped up what I think are the steps involved. If this will save having to answer similar questions feel free to correct or modify it. On the other hand, if these instructions are lurking some where would you give me the URL?

HOW TO REMOVE A GEDCOM AT WCP:

1. Go to: http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/

2. Click on " Start Here" , just below "Submit Your Family Tree To WorldConnect "

3. You are now on the "User Setup/Edit" page.

A. Type in your User code. There is one for every gedcom that you have submitted.

B. Type in your password. If you have forgotten it, go to "Password Central" at http:/passwordcentral.rootsweb.com/

4. Now you are looking at the "application form" that you filled out when you submitted your GEDCOM. It has alternating blue and grey numbered steps.

Scroll down to the area just below step 14) "message for living"

Press the button labeled "Remove GEDCOM"

REPEAT this procedure for each user name. Look at the list from Password Central.
