Pop Ups on World Connect Gone Crazy!
I'm using the same browser (Firefox) with the same settings I've always used, including a pop-up blocker, and all of a sudden, I'm getting ads popping up right and left, sometimes a dozen at a time. The data table is shifting back and forth each time a new add pops up. This is INTOLERABLE.
I guess they're trying to destroy WorldConnect the same way they destroyed GenForum, Genealogy.com, and SMGF. Time to break up the monopoly.

Agree! and now they're working on the newly acquired Find A Grave. Find A Grave has always had adds, however, now there are VIDEOS with VOICE off to the right side. WorldConnect has been invaluable tool for many. Shifting the columns is disturbing.

Your machine has a virus.

Re: Pop Ups on World Connect Gone Crazy!
you need to run the free version of Malwarebytes. You definitely have a virus or some sort of adware/malware if you are getting popups.

Re: Pop Ups on World Connect Gone Crazy!
Sudown: you didn't mention which browser you use but you should install the Adblocker Plus add-on for your browser. You won't see any ads. Works like a charm and is completely free. If you still continue to see ads such as the original poster mentioned...then you have malware on your computer.

Re: Pop Ups on World Connect Gone Crazy!
Thanks for the Adblocker Plus tip! Downloaded and I can't tell you this will save so much time uploading files and not having to Wait For The Add to Finish Loading!! On the flip side, my browser kept locking up - not anymore. Thank you Joan.

I use Firefox, and I'm not getting any ads. I'd run a good antivirus scan, and malwarebytes.
