WorldConnect family tree file notes removal

I put a family tree up 8 years ago, and included all my notes that downloaded with my gedcom. Looking at some of the entries now, I was wrong in some assumptions, and included too much personal information in other instances. I'd like to leave the tree, but remove any access to my notes. I've tried to see if there's a simple way to do it in accessing my file, but have yet to figure it out. Can someone help provide the steps for me to do that? If not, then I may just need to delete the file. Thanks, Michael

You can edit your tree options using this link:
http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igmuser.cgi

...Or you can access the tree edit feature from https://myaccount.rootsweb.com/

Or if you also have corrections to make to the tree itself you can always create a new GEDCOM in your genealogy program and upload it using the same account information you used for the tree you want to replace and the new tree will replace the old one.

When I use the first link (after signing in using my ancestry.com account) I get:
"You are about to create a new GEDCOM account. If this is not what you intended, click the Oops button."
Which doesn't look like a path to modify an existing GEDCOM.
The second link: has:

RootsWeb Services

Add existing services to this account
Personal Information

Name: Michael Brown
Username: xxxxx
Email address: xxxxx
Zip code: xxxx
• Update account information
• Change username or password
• Update your public profile
Which also does not look right.
Am I doing something wrong and just should click through?
Thanks,
Michael

This sounds like when you went to myaccount you didn't scroll down to the WorldConnect section but were trying to edit your RootsWeb account info. Scroll down looking at all the RootsWeb features you use...lists message boards, etc. and you will come to WorldConnect accounts. THAT is where you want to click on edit---to edit the WorldConnection tree...NOT your RootsWeb user account.

I figured out what went wrong. When I originally set up the World Connect account it had a different User ID and password. When I went to follow your instructions it noted I could use my ancestry.com password (figuring everything was linked). But that did show WorldConnect as a service option. I dug back into my archives found the UserID/Password combination, and it came up and was editable just as I needed. Thanks!
