i still say that ancestry.com is violating the freedom of information act by making people pay for information.all genealogical records are invluded in the freedom of information act of 1996.they are also violating the constitution of the united states.i should not have to be a paid member to access records pertaining to my family.

As I stated in my reply to your other rant...FOIA applies ONLY to specific information maintained by certain US Federal Government Agencies.
Ancestry is NOT a Federal Government agency and has nothing to do with FOIA. In addition, there is no requirement that even FOIA data be offered for free--the agenceis can and will charge you a fee to send you the data that is covered by FOIA.
