Randy,
For the hints feature to be helpful it's going to need to be more sophisticated. Here's another instance of the hints being centuries off:
http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&d...Granted, I don't have dates for his birth/baptism or death, but he was married in 1636. The ten hints are all for the US census between 1880 and 1930.
Another:
http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&d...This child was born in 1874 and died in 1875 in the same town in which he was born, before he was five months old, but the hints suggest looking at passenger lists (though I can't tell how off these might be chronologically since I don't have an Ancestry subscription).
And:
http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&d...This woman was born in 1839, married in 1863 and died in 1869, all in the same town in northeastern France. The hint suggests looking at the 1870 census for New York City.
