I also use Reunion (version 9.0) but I've never had that problem. You might check to see what character set you're using in your GEDCOM files. I use ANSEL. You can check this easily by using the file analyzer tool:
http://wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/analyze.cgi?db=
Just put the name of the file you're having trouble with after that equals sign, as long as it's one you've already uploaded to the WorldConnect Project database. At the top of the resulting report you'll get information similar to the following:
SOUR Reunion
VERS V9.0
CORP Leister Productions
DEST Reunion
DATE 11 DEC 2008
SUBM @SUB1@
FILE Behra 2008
GEDC
VERS 5.5
CHAR ANSEL
That last line shows the character set you have set for the export. The most common alternate character set is probably ANSI; other possibilities include IBMPC and UTF-8.
