I have a situation that I probably should just ignore, but it's bugging me.
A message on one of my boards is critical of some confusing material on a personal genealogy web site. My feeling is that if someone has any such criticism, it should be voiced privately to the webmaster via email,
not posted publicly to a message board. One reason being that, even if the error is corrected (an error which I see as surely inadvertent), the criticism will remain on the board in perpetuity.
What I would LIKE to do is delete his message and suggest that he contact the webmaster privately. But I don't know whether I really have sufficient grounds to do so. The criticism isn't scathing, just, to my mind,
needless -- in addition to being unkind and discourteous. I mean, why publicly embarrass someone needlessly?
