Hi Chris; having entered this correspodance late, I am not sure what it is exactly that you are asking. Have you connected your ancestry to Harald Haarfagre, or Harald Hardrada. I can send you to a site that if you have connected to either of these will take your ancestry back to 100 B.C. Harald Hardrada was Harald 1 gg grandson from his 2nd wife. My Ancestry to Harald 1 is through his 3rd wife. He had 4 wives that we know of, probably more and several concubines.
look at this site It'll take you quite a while to go through it because it is very extensive, covering several brances of families that are inter-related. The Lady that wrote this is a born Norwegian and collage professor of English in France. She put a lot of work into this research and has all of it backed up from records where the information is documented.
go to http://perso.wanadoo.fr/kelly.petit/806.htm
this should take you right to Harald Haarfagre Halvdansson (King Harald 1).
Hordaland is the area or county just north of the Hardanger Fjorden. Most everyone from that area is related to Harald in some way or another. My family came from Strandebarm on the north coast of the Hardanger fjord.
good luck, Colin

Chris; I don't know if you are still receiving the message board. In my family tree I have Anna Olsdtr born circa 1685, she is the mother of Ivar Torbjornsson Royrvik: Torkjell Knutsson Oma B. circa 1618, his wife was Sigrid Nilsdtr. does this seem close. Remember the last name usually was a farm name and not a family name, such as Oma.
