Royalty, Nobility-Diplomats, children, Wulff...

I am looking for any members of my family and ancestors of Klindtworth from Germany. We have limited information on our ancestors. Heinrich "henry" Klindtworth and his older brother Joseph came from Buxtehude, Germany in 1874. Joseph was killed later in the 1906 Earthquake in San Francisco. At this time we are looking for a wife that he may have had, and any children. Heinrich married a Caroline "Lena" Hoff who was from Germany. They had a son and many other children as well, but Joseph married Erica Wulff. Many of our members have lived in Ca, ND, SD, Minn, Germany, Conn, OR, Mass, and Tx, and all over the place:) I do know what Fredrick Wulff is my ggggfather and he was an officer in the German Army in the mid 1800s, He was married unknown to us who she is. They raised the family in Schleswig Province, Preussen Germany. Fredrick was a diplomat from Germany to Denmark. He had a son named Ludwig Wulff. We have no info on him or his wife: Antonette S. they met at a party in Denmark. She was the daughter of a diplomat from Spain and she was polish and Spanish, they married in 1886. I do know they had children as well, one girl was Erica Wulff. We have no info. on her either. I am hoping i may be able to find any information on any of our ancestors. I would appreciate any info you may have or think u have... If possible and u think their may be a connection please email or mess me. We still have family in Germany. Their is also family with the names: Blair, all of the above mentiond, Simundson, Nygard, Smith, Barta, Emerson, Johnson, Schoenhit, Bryon, Bondel, Vervell, Thompson, Werven, Hartman just to name a few. I know we still have tons of family in Germany, Sweden, and Denmark and it would be wonderful to be able to share with my children the joys of having a wonderful family tree :) I appreciate your time & Happy Holidays to all!!!!!Cathy Klindt-Cobb

Zigmont, Zygmunt Ancestry

My great grandfather was Anthony Zigmont, b. 1868 in Austria/Poland. He came to the US in 1893. He possibly had a brother Florian. My great uncle told us we were descendants of royalty. Is there any family lineage history after the Sigimonts reign in the 1500 - 1600's? I'm trying to find out if there is a connection. I know he was Catholic. I don't know what town, but possibly Bzroza Krol
Brzóza Królewska. That's a guess. Anthony settled in Taylor/Scranton, PA and married Kathryn Franus, also from Austria/Poland and possibly from Brzóza Królewska.

Thank you for any help!

Re: Surname - Kaszyc

Dear Sir/Madam,

I want to tell you about my grandmother. It is only in so far as my grandmother remembers.
My grandmother’s maiden name is Kaszyce, her name is Antonina, but she could be called otherwise. She was born in 1883 in Ancevičių village (as far as I know then it was Polish territory). She had a brother, who was a few years younger. My mother does not remember his exact name, but she said it could have been Cyprian. When he was about 20 years old, he moved to America (at least he told so).
When he left, my grandmother was already married (her name become Dziczkaniec) and she already had children. My grandmother does not remember the exact number of children, because many of them died being very young. Now, they all are dead. What remained, are only few grandchildren, one of them being my mother.
Before the Second World War, grandmother received letters from her brother. He had been working in lumber mill. During the war letters stopped coming. After the war we were living in Lithuania, which became a part of Soviet Union. No more letters came. Mom told us that our grand grandmother often remembered her brother.
I do not know whether this has anything to do with your grandfather, but I decided to write. I don’t know how to write in English, so I asked to translate.

Sincerely, Renata Geglis
Szerdinsky-Scherdinskij-Skyrdinski-or-SIMILAR

(CORRECTED VERSION)

Captain and Knight (presumably of the Russian Order of St. Anna) "Scherdinskij", also spelled "Skyrdinsky", is mentioned in documents in Swedish, in 1821 and 1822, as "platsadjutant" (place aide-de-camp) at the Castle of Kastellholm at Sund in Åland (Finnish archipelago).

It should be noted that both Swedish spellings mean that the name starts with an English "sh" sound, as in "should", though it might be a sounding "sh".

The Polish spelling of this obviously Polish name would be different. The Swedish spelling version may be a translitteration from the Russian, which would have a special letter for this sound - whether it be a plain "sh" or sounding.

Also the wovels may originally have been slightly different, since the namne could have been written down only after it has been spoken to the scribe.

If he was, as might be expected, a Russian officer, traces of him may be found in one of the Russian Military academies. Maybe there were also Polish ones?

Posted as a aide-de-camp(probably to the "place major", i.e. the commanding officer of the Castle of Kastellholm) he would have been an artillery officer - at least that is my guess.

Any information on this gentleman would be greatly appreciated.

Thomas Kinding

(CORRECTED VERSION)

Captain and Knight (presumably of the Russian Order St.

Paul,

Thank you so much for your answer. By now all what I know is that Dimitri Lubomirsky came here in 1920. His parents names were: Nicolai Alexandrovich Lubomirsky (who died in
1918) and Lidia Rodionova Novicov (died in 1916). Their son, Dimitri, was born on January 25, 1887 in Uglich, Iaroslav, Russia. They had five more children: Nicolai Lubomirsky (born in 1883), Maria Lubomirsky (born in 1885), Victor Lubomirsky (born in 1895), Alexandra Lubomirsky born in 1897) and Olga Lubomirsky (born in 1898). They were Orthodox.

Thank you once more for your time and help,

Noemi

Hi Noemi

I know someone who has done a whole bunch of research into various noble families including several of the famous Polish princely families of Radziwill, Czartoryski, Lubumirksi etc. Just had a quick look but couldn't find your Dimitry but then it may well be incomplete as it is only since the breakdown of the Iron Curtain that more information has come to light and families or branches that were thought to have perished under communism did indeed survive. Many, like your great grandfather moved to the US and South America to start completely new lives and lost touch with family.
Do you know anything about his parents or siblings at all ?

Thanks

Paul Harten

Concerning my second posting today, you can find also the word Mazepa instead of Mazeppa, either for the assasinated woman journalist born in New York from ukrainian Soviet diplomats only described as Ana Polikovtskaya or the Mazepa "hetman" from Ukrainia who at the beginnings of the XVIII Centyry "trahisoned" Russian Tsar Peter Ist.

Ivan Stepanovych Mazepa (Ukrainian: Іван Степанович Мазепа historically spelled as Mazeppa; 20 March 1639—2 October 1709), Cossack Hetman of the Hetmanate in Left-bank Ukraine, in 1687–1708, can be found under the Google searches in English for the word "Mazepa" of the well known http://www.wiki.org.

Music Composer Franz Liszt wrote music around the dream involved with such important person.

At the end of the XVIII Century, Tsarine Catherine II of Russia and many European western powers Foreign Affairs Chancilleries used the name "Mazepa Razumowski" or "Mazeppa Razumowski", (with two p instead of one p), to describe this (perhaps) Ukrainian - Polish - Russian family linked to important diplomatic activities on behalf of the ever-expanding Russian Empire.
Mazzepa is a name coming from what was at the time Polish run Ukraina. It is also the name for a famos Opera on the fights between ethnic ukrainians and ethnic russians, whatever that means. It was also the ukrainian family name of famous woman Russian journalist "Polikotskaya" assassinated in Moscow less than two years ago by her information work around the war in Chechnia, born in New York while her parents wok representing Russia in the United Nations therer. Razumowski was also associated to the family of the "last hetman " of Ukainia before Russian control by the Tsars towards the end of the XVIII Century and the beginnings of the XIX Century. They were diplomatic personnel representing the Russian Empire of Catherine II the Great at the end of the XVIII Century in several important Ruropean West Countries.
Re: Prince Leon Bogun Mazeppa Razumowski

This guy was a fraud. The story that he tells is only detailed enough to match the story I grew up with.

My grandmother's father came over with his children and wife in 1907 after a failed attempt on his life. He was the son of a Duke and Duchess of Poland, not a Prince. Russian soldiers sent by the Russian monarchy helped thwart potential threats and ultimately aided the family in escaping to the United States via Canada via Ireland or Germany. There were several lower level royals from Poland that were aided by Russian soldiers at that time. I imagine that this man was probably one of the Russian soldiers.

The biggest problem with his story is that there was only one Crown Prince of Poland, Prince Leon Radziwill. He was born in 1888 and died in Paris in 1859. He is well documented by the British monarchy. I'm afraid that you and Arlington National Cemetary (since they have it on the man's grave stone), along with many others, are victims of a hoax. This man was no more the Crown Prince Leon than was the woman that in Virginia that claimed that she was the Princess Alexandra of the Romanovs. I'm sure if there were a DNA test as there was for the phony Princess Alexandra, it would expose this deception. He may, like the Princess Alexandra, had told the lie for so long that he started to believe it himself.

In searching my geneology, I've learned that sometimes the lie is much less painful and way less colorful than the truth.

Kataryzna, I have e-mailed you and sought a new e-mail address for you for a couple of months now.

I am seeking information on the young woman referred to in this excerpt:

A family tragedy stopped him. His brother-in-law, Prince Adam Luborrvirski, was imprisoned and executed by the KGB in Ukraine, just as the Soviet army swept into Galicia and Poland in 1939. His sister, Princess Lubomirska, died as a result of her husband's murder leaving their daughter an orphan. At once, Rzewuski arranged through Queen Elena of Italy, that Stalin let the child go, and she finally came to see her uncle in Switzerland.

Thanks, Andrea
I am looking for information about the Lubomirski's, because I am trying to do my genealogy. My great grandfather, Dmitry Lubomirsky came here to Argentina from Russia in 1920, but he never said nothing about his family. So it isn't easy to do the genealogy. If you want I can give you more information about the family, with the family tree up to now. I will thank a lot any help you can give. If you want to write me, my email is: noelubomir(at)gmail(dot)com.
Thank you,
Noemi

Hello,
I am searching for someone who can help me complete our family tree. We have a gap we are trying to fill between the 15th and 19th century if any one of you have any leads.
This is what we got from one of my ancestors Kazimierz Jonkaitis in Kowno in 1938-39 (translated from Lithuanian):
"In the 14th century, in the time of Prince Witold, Migas Jonkaitis was a majordomo in Prince Witold court. He had two sons: Grzegosz (George) & Jakub (Jacob), and they where christians.
We are from Jakub's lineage, Grzegosz lived in Szatlej."

We also know that Migas and Jakub lived in Sascu (Szaczku) in Zmudzi.

I will post more information about my family tree, hopefully in the near future.
Thank you,
Dorota Jonkajtys

WIENIAWICI / WIELOWIEYSKI / WIELOWIEJSKI

Hello,
I was wondering if someone could help me.

I am seeking information about the surname (old spelling) WIELOWIEYSKI / (new spelling) WIELOWIEJSKI. In about the 10 century the name may have been spelled Wieniawici.

I have been told the surname Wielowiejski is a rare, old name that comes from nobility and is very important in Polish history.

For Wielowiejski, I have found 2 coat of arms, Polkzic and Poraj. In the "Orderu Vertuti Militari" 1792 I found a Wielowiejski.

I am curious as to how and why the surname is important in the history of Poland. I would also like to know more about the surname Wielowiejski and it's relationship to the 2 Coat of Arms & Orderu Vertuti Militari.

Thank you in advance
AJ
