Hello,

I am looking for my great grandfather's roots who must have come from Poland, probably or possibly from Choromany town around 1800.
All I know is that my great grandfather was Boleslaw (Boleslovas) Choromanski (Choromanskis) who moved to Lithuania (Litva) in late 19th century and married Bronislawa Tomasauskaite (Tomasczewich).
Would appreciate any help.

You don't say where you are.

I have a similar name in my line (ie, Tomasczewich) but this person migrated from Poland to USA.

I have one chromanski from near Nowogrod Lomza , married into Lutrzykowski- spelled Lutrzikowski from Marriage record from Parish in Nowogrod.also in the record it states a Wladislaw and Alexander Choromanski ,Propieters of Jankowo skarbowo came to announce this. The records I have
came from the parish of nowogrod, with many still un-translated, but this one clearly states this wedding, more is on the record but I cant explain it all on this.
others names mentioned Bzimska. It says the bride is still living with parents in novogrod aka nowogrod Lomza.
dated february 6, 1889. I dont know how I fit into the choromanski family from Jankowo, but do know that in documents per the Organists who sent these, that he mentioned our family of Lutrzykowski directly related higher
up- as in possibly before 1863, possibly aunt of my great grandfather Jan Lutrzykowski.
anything looks familiar, or you want to share anything else
please email with subject of choromanski to avoid the spam , we all know there is too much junk email online and dont need to have to sort through it :) tanks :) Patricia.

My ancestors come from Choromany near Lomza as well. Most pre-mid 19th century family records for the town were burned in a parish fire. According to my father and grandfather, the family received it's nobility back in late 14th century in a battle against the Tutonic Knights (not Grundwald, which was early 15th). The family coat of arms is Lubicz (Two maltese crosses and a horse hoof).

Pozdrowienia dla mojego imiennika z Moldawii :)

Yes, I am 'that' Igor Choromanski :) I'm a 3d Animator, but have contributed to a book on Flash.

Please email me directly at: cgchar@gmail.com -- I'd love to say hello. I've met very few Igor's in my life much less another Igor Choromanski! I speak Polish as well as English, BTW.

In Dotnuva Lithuania, my grandfathers tombstone reads Aleksander Choromanski..he apparently went to Sweden when he was sick and passed away 1909. He was brought back to Lithuania and buried. I have no idea if he was Lithuanian or Polish. As far as I know he had no brothers or sisters. His wife remarried-- Boleslovas Boguslauskas.

I am sorry to disappoint you. I do not have information. Like you I am looking for information on my noble family: Bistram, herb Tarnawa.

I am also looking for generic information regarding the culture or nobility in Poland.

Perhaps we might help each other. I'd like to hear from you.
