Hello, I am looking for information on german royalty in the mid 19th century. Below I will tell what info i have gathered on my gg grandfather and hope someone might point me in the right direction.

-I have an ancestor , Albert Herr, that has multiple stories of him being part of a royal family. The story is he was way down the line, 7th or 8th and he left Germany around 1870 for America and changed his last name. He had a brother Joeseph that came as well and they married sisters in Holly Springs MS shortly after immigrating. Rumored to be a arranged marriage in my family.

-On a passport application he states he was born in Elzach, Germany, baden. This re-eforces a story of him going back to germany later in life that I have been told. The family story continues that he came back to america when the Nazi's where coming to power.

-When back in the us there is another story, from the county he live in ms, that tells of him having his nurse/servant burn his royal papers on his death bed and the reasoning for him burning them i have heard multiple stories.

This is only a few things that point to the possibilty through stories and some documents i have been told or found. Does Anyone know of an Albert born in 1849(though his passport application says 1848 which we believe is false becasue even his tombstone says 1849.) that left germany as a prince, Having a brother named Joseph?
