Hello Everyone,

It's Midterm Week in Library School and I have 5 large assignments due this coming week. Plus, I'm looking for a job! Yikes!

Wanted to let you know that I found the answer to the question: "Who is the Gentleman Usher of the Scarlet Rod, Order of the Bath."

It's Rear-Adm. I.R. Henderson, CB, CBE

I found it listed in a book called Whitaker's Almanack (p. 78), which by the way, is an excellent source for information about British heraldry. It gives the names of the principal players within various Orders and other divisions.

It's published in London by A&C Black. I found it in the 2004 edition. It was listed in the index under "Orders of Chivalry." I don't know anything about heraldry, but started reading and I think I noticed mention of Order of the Bath as being one of the Orders of Chivalry. That's how I thought to look under that.

Anyway, thanks for your many e-mails. I was unable to find the information online. I guess that's what they're trying to train us to do in library school, anyway, know what printed resources to.

One more question: I am posting this message by replying to a reply to my message. I try to access the Digests, but my new internet provider (ComCast) has some sort of screen and won't let me see the posts because they might be "dangerous." Can't remember the exact error message. Has anyone had problems accessing the list?

I plan to contact Comcast when I have time (not for awhile).

Take care.
